I dunno…as someone who will be going back to work post maternity leave - a baby that will wake up at 5 AM is super convenient. Great! Let’s both get ready for the day, get you dropped off at daycare and momma can make her hour commute to work!
LFG!

I’m concerned that your fiancé is literally working from the time the baby wakes until they go to sleep. That sounds like they’re working 12-hour days? Also, they just never see their child then except for the weekends?
What do you mean with baby, and what do you mean with 8-8?
AFAIK you have to breastfeed every 2-3 hours.

Breastfeeding every 2-3 hours is recommended for newborns until they gain their birth weight. Then you can let them sleep until they wake up. Based on doctor recommendation.
I personally chose to feed at max 4-5 hours if she didn’t wake up the first two months because she would be too hungry after to focus and eat properly.
But in general, if the baby is growing, gaining, and meeting milestones you can let them sleep until they wake up.
@Dakota
I was told when mine started gaining past birth weight that I have to wake her up every 5 hours (but don’t have to do the 2-3 anymore) during the night if she didn’t wake up on her own (so I pretty much just wake her up once during the night to feed). I wonder why my pediatrician seems to be the only one to have suggested that?

You don’t have to do anything; how do you know she’s even breastfeeding?
Babies sleep 12 hours. They’ll let you know if they’re hungry.

Doesn’t seem like you know much then.

I’m pretty sure we would stop reproducing if we had to feed babies every 2-3 hours after they were newborns.
@Mai
Can confirm. Mine ate every 2 hours around the clock until 10 months and I am one and done lmao.

How about you don’t speak for everyone babies like you know.

You only need to feed a baby throughout the night until they’re at their birth weight. This baby seems much older than that so it’s fine for them to sleep through the night.
