I hate waking up before the sun

My baby is 9-6 most days lol, with a few night wake ups but they are quick just for a paci. I would love 12 hours lol.

Lol SAME, we’re on the 6-6 train… this morning I heard him cooing around 5:20, and I muted the monitor, and he eventually fell back to sleep, but I’m praying it doesn’t become a habit. But he was a 7:30 to 7:30 baby and then the time change happened, and it became 6 to 6 :dizzy_face::yellow_heart:.

I don’t have advice, just solidarity. My baby wakes up around 5-5:30 no matter what time she goes to bed. I also feel like I’m not allowed to complain because she sleeps 11ish hours, but I am absolutely not a morning person and struggle waking up early even if I go to bed a couple hours after her. Waking up when it’s still dark out just sucks.

This is the same thing happening to me lol - although we seem to have paused at a 5:58 wake up. I haven’t adjusted the time we put her down because otherwise my husband would never see her.

How old is your baby?

Cries in Scandinavia.

I feel this in my bones lol. It is exhausting to be your baby’s one point of contact all day; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise :love_you_gesture:. My baby also sleeps through the night, but that doesn’t make it less tiring!!

Can it be your baby is ready to drop a nap? And longer wake windows?

Honestly annoyed you’re complaining about anything with a baby that sleeps this well lollll. I’m just kidding but I would kill for my baby to sleep 8-5 straight.

I can understand your frustration. However, is that really fair when you have said yourself you didn’t feel comfortable sleep training? Your baby is at an age where they theoretically would be fine overnight, you personally don’t want to, and that’s okay too! But don’t put down another mom just because her struggles are different than yours.

@BillSmith
You’re making it way more serious than I intended it to be. A baby sleeping 9-12 hours straight is extremely lucky at any point. Pointing that out isn’t putting anyone down.

Go to bed earlier? Your baby is going to bed 2 hours earlier than before but still sleeping for 11 hours lol. You have like 3-4 hours after they go to sleep to do whatever and still get 7-8 hours of rest.

Not sure how old they are, but I’d wager many people here would LOVE a little one consistently sleeping that long lol.

Ha my baby wouldn’t fall asleep tonight until 11:30 PM! She’s been taking a weird sunset nap, and when I think she’s out for the night, she pops up ready to play. I think the full moon has her wired.

Ooo the sunset nap. Someone cursed you lol.

What happens if you give them a bottle and put them back to bed at 5 AM? I do that when my baby wakes up before 6:30. He will usually sleep until at least 7.

LOL A DREAM.

I spent about a week contact napping with him when he woke up too early. I think it helped him reset his internal clock.

@Mai
A dream to stop contact naps too :joy::joy: mission impossible over here. Ya got any tips?

I have to force my baby to contact nap, so unfortunately no tips. I know it’s so difficult.

Time to move that bedtime to 7… or 8… my two-year-old goes to bed at 9 so he doesn’t wake up ungodly early every morning. I miss my evenings because I also go to bed at 9:30, but it’s better than waking up at 4:30.

I wish my little guy would sleep that long. He’s been waking up every 2 hours to eat.
