Today is the day before my daughter’s first birthday. I’ve been a mom for a year, but I always felt a bit like an imposter saying it. I just had this wonderful moment that made me so happy to know I’m really a mama.
My daughter was playing when a rubber band snapped on her foot. She started to cry and immediately looked for me. I got down on the floor to comfort her, and she fell into my arms for a big hug! It felt so safe; I was her safe place.
He vomited for the first time. He was crawling towards me when it started, and it freaked him out, so he crawled into my lap with eyes wide and vomited all over me. Safe place

Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard! That’s both hilarious and sweet at the same time
@Dez
I wish I could describe the sound he made while he was speed crawling and puking at the same time. It was something like HABLUGHBLACHGHAO. It was so funny!

This made me snort laugh so hard that my 6-month-old unlatched!

Once my baby started smiling at me and got happy to see me in the mornings and after naps, I started feeling more like a mom. We’re only 9 weeks in, and I can’t wait for more moments!

Oh yes, those moments are amazing! I love coming home from work and seeing her face light up or hearing her say mama at night when she needs me
Congrats to you and here’s to all the wonderful little moments ahead!

My girl will be 1 next month, but I still remember her first smile at 7 weeks old. It was Easter last year, and I was with family when she gave me the tiniest smile. I was so excited to show everyone! I have a video of her third smile later that day.
Sorry to ramble, just reminiscing as her birthday approaches. Please enjoy and capture all those moments!
The first time I picked up my little guy from daycare (he’s 4 months), I said ‘hi, bubba’ and he saw me and immediately smiled. My heart melted that he was just as happy to see me as I was to see him.

When my sweet little girl got sick for the first time and vomited all over my face and hair while I was lying down beside her, I thought, ‘Oh no! She must feel so sick.’ Then I was thankful I didn’t have my mouth open. She just wanted to lay on my chest that day.
