A few weeks in, when I was still learning how to soothe her cries and handle feeding/changing, we were at a family gathering. Grandma held the baby and she started to cry, so Grandma handed her back to me and she stopped right away. It was like, bam! I’m her mom and everything is okay. I felt like I’d been faking it until then.

Aww yay That’s an awesome feeling.
We started having daddy-daughter dates regularly around 10 months. She loves the zoo, and it’s so fun to take her around to see her favorite animals.

Aww, yay! Those sound like so much fun
When other people couldn’t calm my baby and she looked to me. When I’d come home and she would be crying to my husband and then look at me with those little eyes and start giggling.

It’s so nice to know you have that special power.

Yes! That is definitely a big mom moment!
I left my husband to get her ready for bed, and he returned like two minutes later saying, ‘Okay, let’s go see mama.’ She fussed, he pointed her at me, and she immediately smiled.
My daughter’s first birthday is tomorrow too. Cheers!

Hey, that’s so cool! Happy birthday to our babies!
Honestly, just a few days ago I really felt it. She’s about 10 weeks, and after some skin-to-skin, she was fussy, so I took off her onesie, unclipped my bra, and now she’s sleeping on me. The other day, after her dad scared her, she looked at me for comfort, and I hugged her. She may smile at everyone, but she definitely knows who her mom is.
My daughter turns one tomorrow as well! While reflecting today, I thought about how I was just getting used to the idea of being a mom, and now she’s becoming a toddler. Happy birthday to your little one!
When he stares at me from afar, and as soon as I give him direct attention, he smiles so big and shies away in joy.
