I am just curious because I have heard it can take 3 months. My baby is now 3.5 months old, and I am getting impatient. I am not worried and understand that every baby is different, but I am interested in hearing about other babies’ experiences.
Don’t get too worried because the period can vary from one baby to another. Like for my son, he started laughing at 3 months old but my nephew took 4.5 months. Do you notice the difference? Therefore no worry yourself just wait and when the right time comes, your baby will laugh.
Babies typically start to laugh or giggle around one month after their first smile. While 4 months is a common time for this milestone, some babies may start laughing at 5, 6, or even 7 months old. Be prepared to capture these precious moments, as their laughter and cute expressions are heartwarming milestones to cherish.
Mine is 4 months old and hasn’t started laughing loudly yet. He does, however, smile a lot—huge, large smiles—but not yet giggles. Though the pediatrician stated it’s normal and nothing to worry about because the baby is chattering and cooing a lot all day, I believe it depends on the baby. Perhaps I’m simply not very funny
When he was 2 and a half months old, I was changing his diaper and started tickling him, and he burst out laughing. Now that he’s 3 and a half months old, that laugh has become my favorite sound in the world.
It’s entirely normal for babies to begin rolling over at various ages. While some infants may start as early as 3 months, others might not achieve this milestone until they are closer to 6 or 7 months.
Here are a few factors that can affect when a baby begins rolling over:
- Muscle Strength: Adequate strength in the neck, back, and shoulders is essential for rolling over.
- Tummy Time: Regular tummy time promotes the development of the muscle strength and coordination needed for rolling.
- Individual Differences: Each baby develops at their own rate, and there is no fixed timeline for this milestone.
My 7-month-old sister has been gurgling and giggling for the past three or four months, but in the last month or six weeks, her chuckles have transformed into actual tiny belly laughs, and it’s the cutest, most lovely sound in the world.
