When did you stop tracking everything?

Our little one will be 5 months old tomorrow, and I faithfully chart her feedings, sleep, and diaper changes in the Huckleberry app. I know it wasn’t required, but it made me feel more in control during those hectic newborn days. I also have severe ADHD and frequently forget what time I did x, y, or z. Anyway, I know I won’t do it forever, and I probably won’t do it with other kids in the future, but I was wondering when other people stopped monitoring these things?

After his three-day checkup, he had gained more than his birthweight.

Same. I stopped tracking after she was back to her birth weight.

Same, tracking would drive me crazy!

Normally, I don’t track anything since it drives me insane. But I don’t mind keeping track of my son’s information because attempting to recall with mom brain or answering inquiries from my pediatrician or other caregivers off the top of my head was far worse. I don’t want to be asked eight times a day when my son was last fed. :sob: We all use the app on our phones to avoid contacting the previous caretaker for common tasks.

Same for us too Angelina

Same! With everything else we had going on, it was the last thing we wanted to do.

I’m such a data-driven person, and having this information makes me feel so much more organized. It also makes me feel better about leaving to run a quick errand because I always know when she ate last.

I’m the same! I also mislead my control freak brain into thinking I have control, while there is none in reality lol.

Same! I enjoy seeing trends and comparing them to how much they vary each week.

Hell I’m still tracking, and my son is ten months old. I don’t know why, but I am infatuated with it. It helps me see and remember what my baby is doing. It also helps me maintain him on a proper sleep schedule. I don’t know when I’ll quit.

Similarly, images are extremely helpful. And with my mother brain and sleep deprivation, I don’t recall when she eats, sleeps, or poops. It’s helpful to have it recorded.

In my opinion, stop whenever you want. Best of luck!

Same!! I have a severe case of CRS (can’t recall anything), so the monitoring and visualization are quite helpful, especially when dealing with numerous caregivers (myself, spouse, grandparents, etc). My baby is 9 months old, and I still use it to track sleep, feeding, medication, growth metrics when he visits the doctor, and poop diapers (because he goes every other day). I’ll probably do it till he becomes 18 :joy:

Yesss I’m such a visual person!

My daughter is over 16 months old and still records nursing sessions and sleep . I appreciate seeing the data; I believe it’s fascinating!
