What's your baby's favourite song?

What is the one grownup music that helps your infant calm down during a meltdown? I am not talking about coco melon or nursery songs. For example, our baby likes the song Amber by 311, which has been calling him down since he was a baby lol, and my cousin’s daughter adores Super Bass by Nicki Minaj, which she always keeps on hand for lengthy car rides. I’m curious about what music other babies enjoy; it’s interesting/amusing.

The happy song always does the trick :slightly_smiling_face:

We used to enjoy this song. Strangely, for the past few weeks, whenever I put it on, my six-month-old seems unhappy or upset and begins to weep. It’s not the grumpy/fussy cry, but she appears to be moved by the song and is emotional. It is only for this song, and we tested it. Even if I sing it to her, she becomes upset, especially at the part where “up in the sky and deep in the ocean”

Awe that’s so cute! Poor bubba!

Cantina song from Star Wars soundtrack  she falls asleep to it after sobbing furiously and us being at a loss for what to do, we play it as a last resort, works every time :woman_shrugging::woman_facepalming::rofl:.

My toddler like the Thong Song, so sorry about that one. My newborn adores Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, and it always puts him to sleep.

Do not worry. Thong song is up there on my list with DMX “where the hood at”

The other day, my husband was singing “Get Low” to our newborn and dancing about, and I had to explain to my mom what “skeet” meant lmaooooo.

Edit: This was also informative for my hubby, who evidently did not know either.

My 16-month-old son enjoys dancing to this song, which he considers his favorite.

It’s a banger. My husband and I always ask for it at weddings and tear up the dance floor. My cousin went to the DJ at our wedding to “get back” at us, but we already had it on our “must play” list.

Do classic tunes from The Muppet Show count? My dude loves loves loves when I sing him “Mahna Mahna” during diaper changes.

Billy Joel wrote Piano Man. Worked with a colicky newborn. Still works instantaneously for a grouchy, bored, nearly 3-year-old 3 hours into a car ride.

HOLY When this music comes up, my LO immediately stops crying. So we play it in the car or whenever he complains.

Same here! We play it at least twice per day. Fortunately, we haven’t grown tired of listening to it every day for the past six months.

Our LO actually like synthpop! I have to play Hot To Go to get her ready for her nap.
