I’m trying to figure out what to do for my husband’s first Father’s Day. I know he’s going to do something nice for Mother’s Day, so I want to make sure his day is special too. He’s really into grilling, beard accessories, and has watched every Marvel movie (except Hulk, surprisingly!). He’s been wanting a beard straightener, so I’m planning to get him one, but I also want to give him something dad-related.
I was considering something matching for him and our son since he loves doing things together. We had a pretty traumatic experience before our baby was born, spent some time in the hospital, and he was by my side the entire time, being incredibly supportive and helpful. I want to do something really nice for him to show how much I appreciate him, but I’m not great at picking gifts. Any suggestions?
More elegant presents: how about an engraved watch, a high-end pen, or a grilling metal spatula? One year, we gifted my dad a steak brander engraved with his initials. It would look lovely with matching shoes!
Funny presents include white new shoes, various corny “dad” items, or anything with LO’s picture on it! I found some mugs, tees, and other items with the subject “marvel Father’s Day gift” after searching for it.
Etsy is full with awesome stuff. This year, I think I might make two pairs of socks with the faces of our dogs and one pair featuring the faces of babies. I also enjoy the artists on Etsy that take a picture, digitally paint, draw, or otherwise replicate it, then print it.
Divvyup has impressed me with their face socks. After getting my sister some with her dog’s face for Christmas last year, I got my husband some this year with our baby’s face on it.
I was going to recommend it to OP. My hubby adores his socks featuring our daughter’s face on them! As she gets older, he advised me to get him new ones every year
Given that it’s Father’s Day, you may write him a handwritten letter that lists all the indications, moments, and indicators that you felt he was a potential father and that you wanted to establish a family.
Although it might work for other Father’s Days as well, this works best for the first one.
The coffee travel mugs with images are available, and since I enjoy coffee so much, my wife selects her top kid photos each year and crafts me a new cup so I can retire the old one. Instead of needing to scrapbook or do anything else, we use the older mugs as practical photo albums of our little guy. Everything is right there.
