My son is 15 months old, and I am TIRED of hauling around a backpack every time we go out. What do you guys use, and what do you put in it? I feel like I don’t need a giant backpack anymore, but I’m anxious to not have 50 things packed at all times .
I keep a packed diaper caddy in my car with everything I’ll need, as well as a tiny crossbody bag with wipes, diapers, and a burp cloth to bring inside.
I never considered having a diaper caddy in the car, but it will make my life lot easier. Thank you!
Just remember to replenish the wipes on a regular basis. When the baby grows out of diapers and spare garments, replace them.
Second, the car diaper caddy. 1,000,000/10 recommend. I usually never bring my diaper bag with me unless we are more than a fair walking distance from the car.
This! I keep his diaper bag in the van loaded full, then use a Vera Bradley crossbody for basics.
Same here! I’ve always disliked purses and spotted an Eddie Bauer crossbody on cheap and haven’t looked back since.
This is the way! I carried a diaper bag everywhere as a second-time mother until my first child was potty trained. I got used to using a tiny purse again and refused to carry a backpack with a toddler and newborn. Make your car into a gigantic diaper bag, lol. Keep a stocked caddy/bag on/under your stroller. I have the black itzy ritzy crossbody and love it, however there are cheaper options on Amazon.
Oh, do you know the name of the crossbody? That seems fantastic.
At age three, I usually use a little bag to keep track of my daughter’s EpiPen. We now have a diaper bag for each child. So the EpiPen is never separated from her.
However, when daughter was in diapers, I kept a package of wipes and three diapers in each car. Then I left the backpack at home for short journeys.
I despise diaper bag life, too.
I carry more in my diaper backpack now (2yo) than before now there is a need for a change of clothes/shoes in case of an opportunity to play with water, a backup shirt in case of food spills, sweatshirt for layers, SNACKS, water bottle, toys (starts carrying them, then gives them to me for safekeeping), hand wipes, sanitizing wipes, diaper wipes, etc, etc… I could certainly use a weekender bag, to be honest.
Same for me, and my kid is only 14 months old.
We always pack a change of clothes, food, a board book or two, a small stuffed animal, an extra pair of socks, and a water bottle.
Her belongings take up the most of the bag; I only have two diapers and a pack of wipes in one of the zippered pockets in case we need them.
