Since this is my first child, I’m growing anxious as my due date approaches. What time should I put my baby to bed at night?
As long as they are truly weary and will go to bed (which might be challenging to convince them to do), you can start their nighttime sleep schedule anytime you like. Newborns do not recognize the difference between day and night.

A baby isn’t really “predictable” until they are three to four months old. I would continue to feed her on demand at that point and recognize her signs of sleepiness. I eventually figured out that she prefers to go to bed between 7:30 and 8:30. At a little sooner some nights and later others.
At first, try not to stress too much about going to bed. Observe cues and persevere!
I agree with you, Aurelia. The best way to know if your child is sleepy is to observe them .
