BUILD ME YOUR SICK DAY BOX for babies under 6 months

I am preparing for our first fall and winter season, so I am putting together our sick and medication cabinet, please include your favorite and must-have goods for babies under 6 months. This week marks the baby’s fourth month of life.

Update! Thank you everyone for your suggestions! This is really useful!

We started with the following items:

Genexa brand tylonal and allergy (for when we begin solids) Humidifier Rectal thermometer, forehead Saline droplets Gas drips Teething gels

Just bought:

Tylonal suppositories Frida Nose Electric Sucker Nebulizer and Saline Oogie Boogie wipes. Forehead temperature stickers

I’ll wait two more months for the infant ibuprofen/Motrin.

Nose Frida, baby Tylenol, saline spray, and boogie wipes.

Adding Humidifier, Vicks Baby Rub, and Oogiebear Nose Picker

That oogie nose picker is the MVP in our house! Use it frequently.

I prefer the Frida baby picker. It serves multiple purposes. I use it frequently for ear wax and small finger muck! But I know the oogiebear is quite popular.

I am in love with the oogiebear!

I do not believe Vicks is safe to use till kids are two years old.

Adding Frida humidifier drops (sick day drops) and vaseline for when baby’s nose gets irritated by wiping

If you have pets, make sure that the ingredients you use in your humidifier are also pet-safe!!

Additionally, a rectal thermometer

And anything you use to make the rectal thermometer easier to insert and remove!

Consider using alcohol wipes (or 70% isopropyl alcohol and cotton balls) to clean the rectal thermometer after use.

Add a pack of probe covers as a backup if you misplace the rubbing alcohol and need to take a temperature!

Is there a reason to use a rectal thermometer instead of an in-ear one?
