Best high chair for baby

I’ve spent a lot of time looking into high chairs, and honestly, I feel really overwhelmed. My main concern is finding one that’s safe. But since it’ll be in our kitchen for a long time, I also want it to look nice. It would be great if it could fit in our car too, for when we visit Grandma and Grandpa.

Right now, my baby is 5.5 months old, so I can’t wait much longer to choose one.

Here are the options I’m considering:

  • Stokke Tripp Trapp: It’s safe and looks good, but it’s expensive, and the tray is an extra cost. I’ve been checking on Facebook Marketplace but haven’t found a good deal yet.
  • Abiie Beyond
  • Graco high chairs with an adjustable footrest
  • Ikea Antilop with added footrest and shoulder straps

Please help me decide! Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Amanda… Choosing a high chair can indeed be overwhelming, but it’s great that you’re considering safety, aesthetics, and portability. Here’s a breakdown of your options:

  1. Stokke Tripp Trapp: Known for its safety and sleek design, but it can be pricey, especially with additional accessories like the tray. Keep an eye out for deals, as you’ve been doing on Facebook Marketplace.
  2. Abiie Beyond: Another versatile option with a modern look. It’s designed to grow with your child and offers good value for its features.
  3. Graco high chairs with adjustable footrest: Graco is a trusted brand known for safety and durability. The adjustable footrest adds comfort for your baby as they grow.
  4. Ikea Antilop with added footrest and shoulder straps: A budget-friendly option that’s easy to clean and can be customized with added accessories for safety and comfort.

Consider your priorities - whether it’s budget, aesthetics, or versatility. If safety is your top concern, all these options are designed with safety standards in mind. If portability is important for visits to Grandma and Grandpa’s, the Ikea Antilop might be a convenient choice. If aesthetics and long-term use are key, the Stokke Tripp Trapp or Abiie Beyond could be worth the investment. Ultimately, choose the one that best fits your needs and preferences.

Choosing the right high chair can indeed feel overwhelming, but it’s great that you’re prioritizing safety and aesthetics. Let’s break down your options:

  1. Stokke Tripp Trapp: Known for its sleek design and longevity, the Tripp Trapp grows with your child and can be used from infancy through adulthood. While it’s an investment, its durability and versatility may justify the cost. Keep an eye on secondhand options for potential savings.
  2. Abiie Beyond: This high chair offers a modern design and adjustable features to accommodate your child as they grow. It’s also convertible into a toddler chair and adult chair, providing long-term value. Consider its safety features and whether the design fits your kitchen aesthetic.
  3. Graco High Chairs: Graco offers a range of high chairs with adjustable features and safety considerations. Look for models with a sturdy build, easy-to-clean surfaces, and adjustable footrests for added comfort.

The best high chair for a baby depends on factors like safety, comfort, and ease of cleaning. Options like the Graco Blossom 6-in-1 and the OXO Tot Sprout are popular for their durability and adjustability as your child grows.
