Are you always productive when the baby naps?

Okay, most days I’ll wash bottles, cook, or read a book while she naps. But sometimes I just watch a reality program all day and then feel bad for not doing something more constructive because I’m a sahm now and “have the time”.

Idk, just a rant lol. Does anyone else do absolutely nothing productive during naps?

Hell no. Being productive is for when the baby is awake🤣

And some days, nothing gets done. Sleep while the baby naps and vacuum when the baby vacuums.

Vacuuming as the baby vacuums is an underappreciated tip that I wish someone had told me sooner. Every day, quarter-sized balls of dust and cat fur cover my living room floor like tumbleweed, but I don’t worry about it because the baby will vacuum it himself.

Vacuuming is for while you’re awake. I strap him into a carrier or bouncer, place earmuffs on his head, and vacuum. He can watch! I feel like Charles is in charge! It’s fun :heartpulse:

Be careful with that. Vacuuming is my toddler’s favorite activity. I would be vacuuming all day if I used that technique lol.

Okay, nice because then I feel terrible if I get something done while IS awake hehe.

I use the excuse (to myself) that I don’t want to accidently wake him awake , but I try to involve him in my chores as much as possible. I’m not sure what age your child is, but mine enjoys copying and assisting mommy (18 months). For a while, his favorite toy was a swiffer lol

If he looks or acts bored, I’ll have him play with me or something.

My son is 17 months old, and I handed him the swiffer for the first time today because he is constantly attempting to take my broom. He enjoys cleaning up as well.

My mother advised me to never perform any chores that may be done while the baby is awake while it is asleep.

It’s amusing because I said “hell no” before even asking the question. :joy:

Yeah, I was about to say… I understand that some babies can not tolerate this and want constant attention, but I relax during my baby’s naps (currently playing the video game Palia lol) and leave all of my tasks for when she wakes up. To be honest, I enjoy it since she is generally content to simply observe me, and it gives us both something to do, especially when I am doing something unusual. She enjoys “helping” with laundry and pulling items from the refrigerator while I am doing dishes/cooking, etc.

Palia is so much fun :ok_hand:t4:

Just got my lil one down and it’s palia time lol :joy:
