Our little boy was a 33w preemie. He’s 9 weeks actual now and I was a bit concerned because we hadn’t seen any smiles yet. But over the past couple of days I began to suspect that something new was developing: he was bored.
So yesterday, I went ahead and assembled our Kick and Play Piano. He’s too small to actually have any interest in the keyboard, but I thought maybe he’d like looking at the toys. So I laid him down on the mat.
Five minutes later? We get a giggle.
Then the grins.
He was absolutely beaming at the blue elephant.
And now we’ve got the whole grins and giggles package going, heavily amplified anytime we get some play gym time.
My son loves his kick and play piano and his baby Einstein go octopus so much! He always smiles at them. One day both of them went out within a few hours of each other. We didn’t have batteries. We realized as parents how much reliance we put on these 2 toys when we had to go a whole evening without them . Let’s just say we got a big pack batteries the next morning and we’re not taking any chances.

My baby is getting the Einstein Go octopus from Santa. One snag is that as soon as my dogs saw it, they wanted to rip it to shreds. I’m gonna have to be really careful about only having that out when they are locked in the other room.
Thank you for posting this. This genuinely made me smile. I’m picturing what it must have felt like to see all of that for the first time and how he must have looked beaming at a blue elephant .
My 12mo son still loves the keyboard part of it. He bashes the keys with his fists now and chucks the whole thing out of his playpen with great enthusiasm. Endless entertainment since he was 2 months old.
My boy didn’t seem too interested in kicking but tummy time? He’ll hang out and stare at that thing for ages! We’re both just there bopping along to the music while I try to keep up with wiping away the drool .
