No matter if we size up or down or try a new diaper brand, my baby will have blowouts up the back. I don’t know if he just has rocket-powered poops or what, but it’s such a hassle to deal with. Millie Moon is the worst offender, but it’s happened with some Pampers and Huggies too. In multiple sizes
But then we tried a Pampers overnight during the day (not for a long stretch, but just to see if it helped), and the poo stayed in!! I think because of the back flap that stops poo from shooting out.
Do other brands have this folded over piece at the back? Or is it ok to just wear overnight diapers during the day, changing them frequently though?
@Sky
Thank you for saying this! I thought I was crazy that some of the Pampers Swaddlers from Target have the blowout barrier and some don’t. I know what to look for now!
Huggies Little Snugglers/Movers are the answer! We were having sooo many leaks and blowouts with Pampers and other brands - Huggies have the back flaps and just generally fit our baby better. Plus they were cheaper, so win-win!
Coterie doesn’t have the back flap but seem to be spacious enough to prevent blowouts from creeping out the back. The ‘wings’ are great indicators for ensuring that the elastic sides are pulled out far enough to prevent blowouts from the legs. We’ve literally never had a leg blowout in a Coterie but have had a few back blowouts when getting close to sizing up.

My Coterie diapers leak and the color indicator doesn’t work. For .60 cents a pop, I am disappointed.
Disappointing to hear! We haven’t had any leaking issues and the color indicator works just fine. My only complaint is that the Velcro straps were defective on one package that we got from Whole Foods, which resulted in us throwing an entire package away since Coterie nor Whole Foods were willing to take ownership of the issue.
@Noor
I regret buying from Whole Foods because when I contacted them, they told me to go back to Whole Foods and I was like I’m not going to return an open package of diapers.

That disappointed me too. Coterie had me send them the diaper information (there’s a tag number on the inside of the Velcro tab that identifies its batch) and then said ‘Ope sorry you have to work through Whole Foods.’ So basically, they had me do legwork to help them investigate THEIR issue and then said ‘sorry not our problem.’ They would’ve lost me as a customer if my baby didn’t fit the diapers so well. We ended up subscribing .
Members Mark diapers have the blowout protection too, just like Pampers. I did realize, though, as my baby got older (she’s 10 months now) that she pees a lot more since she’s drinking water, so they start to leak even if they aren’t on super long, which sucks, so we switched to Pampers Cruisers. But Pampers Swaddlers have blowout protection too.
