Why is the baby shouting at 4 months?

My 4-month-old baby has started to yell and screech.

She doesn’t seem to be in pain or discomfort. It seems like she just discovered her voice and is enjoying using it. Sometimes it feels like she’s trying to get our attention.

I read that babies typically start doing this around 6 months and older. I wanted to check if anyone else has experienced their baby yelling or screeching at 4 months? Do some babies learn to yell earlier than others?

It sounds like your little one is discovering her voice early. Babies can start yelling and screeching around 4 months as they explore and interact with their environment. It’s a fun phase where they’re learning to communicate and express themselves. Each baby develops at their own pace, so it’s normal for some to start vocalizing earlier than others. Enjoy this lively stage of her development, it’s all part of her growing curiosity and personality shining through.
