I’m not having any success selling things on Poshmark. I’m thinking maybe the stuff I’m selling, like holiday outfits for newborns, might not be what people are looking for right now because they’re not far along in their pregnancies. But nothing is selling at all.
Do any of you have better luck selling on other websites like Poshmark? I usually wait a month and then just give things away because I don’t want to keep storing them. Any advice or tips would be really helpful before I decide to stop trying.
For premium brands like Hanna Andersson, Boden, Tea, Kate Quinn, etc., you’ll find extensive Buy-Sell-Trade (BST) groups on Facebook. For more common brands like Carters, Cat and Jack, Old Navy, etc., your best options would be a kids consignment store or selling them together as a bundle on Facebook Marketplace.
Hi Barbara… It can be frustrating when items don’t sell as quickly as you’d hope on platforms like Poshmark. If you’re not having success on Poshmark, it might be worth trying other online marketplaces like eBay, Mercari, or Facebook Marketplace.
Different platforms attract different audiences, so you might find better luck selling your holiday outfits for newborns on a platform that caters more specifically to parents or families.
Additionally, consider adjusting your pricing strategy or offering promotions to attract buyers. You could also try improving the quality of your product photos or writing more detailed descriptions to make your listings more appealing to potential buyers.
Finally, timing can also play a role in sales. If holiday outfits for newborns aren’t in high demand at the moment, consider diversifying your inventory or focusing on items that are more seasonally relevant.
Don’t get discouraged! Selling online can take time and patience, but with some adjustments and persistence, you may find success.
Recently, my city has begun utilizing Instagram for consignment purposes. I’m located in Canada, and there’s an organization called Kids Closet where individuals can participate in ‘takeovers’ to showcase their items over a span of 2-3 days. Additionally, there are numerous popular consignment and resale pages. If you have a substantial amount of items, you might contemplate launching your own page and initiating a small business venture.
Baby clothes sellers typically sell their products in baby clothing stores, online marketplaces, department stores with baby sections, children’s boutiques, and sometimes through direct sales at baby fairs or markets.
