Every day I’m amazed by something our 10 month old figures out.
Recently we’ve been working on his pincer grip for picking up small bits of food. He’s realized if he can get it into his fist and squeeze hard enough, then it’ll pop out the top of his fist and then he can bring that to his mouth to eat it. I find it so fascinating how they work stuff out like this!
What’s a clever thing your baby does? I’d love to hear how your little ones are learning!

I’m very worried my son figured this out. He currently shows he’s done with eating at the table by trying to undo the clasps of his harness so I can imagine him succeeding eventually

I bet he will! I think they see us do it so often that it’s imprinted into their brains and now mine uses it against me lol. He does it in the stroller too

NOooOooo my daughter keeps fiddling with the buckles on her car seat and high chair trying to figure it out and I am like NOPE 
do not, please do not because I can barely contain you as it is haha

My 6 month old shows understanding that the clip is what keeps her in the carseat and high chair. I’m scared for the day she has strong enough fingers to un-do it.

idk if that counts as clever but I love it so much my 14 month puts her baby doll to sleep in her little crib. She rocks the crib and ‘sings’ to her and then kisses the doll good night:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
and then she looks at us and shows shhhhh:shushing_face:.

No joke I had to SEW a nappy for this doll because she was asking for it so often.
She’s also started trying to wipe her own butt after poop changes and typing this out I think I have to let her because she’s going to need those skills

that’s so cute tho! My daughter wipes the mouth of the baby doll we got her one that makes sounds and falls asleep and closes her eyes because she was getting angry when the doll did not close the eyes that she fell asleep 
I was like girl same I get frustrated when you still have your eyes open after half an hour of making her fall asleep haha
My little guy is 1 in a couple of days and if you ask him how old he is he holds up his index finger. Tbh I don’t think he knows what he’s doing and it’s more of a ‘when they say this and I put my finger up they all lose their minds so I’m going to keep doing it’, but I still think it’s incredibly clever.
He can also open and close the wipes container for me if I say ‘open’ or ‘close’ (thank you Ms. Rachel for that one). He also just yesterday started ‘telling people off’. If you wipe his nose, wipe him down after a meal, take something he shouldn’t have, etc. he starts nonsense babbling at you like he’s a boomer lecturing the younger generation for not having 20 kids and ruining the economy. 10/10 one of the funniest things he’s done, but also had me super impressed that he’s picking up on these social things around him.

My 16 month old closed the bathroom door on me the other day. When I knocked and asked to come in he started scolding me heavily in toddler babble then closed the door again. Thank god I got that all on video
