I’m a first-time mother, and my child is due in July. For piece of mind, I’m thinking about purchasing the Owlet baby monitoring sock. I’ve read conflicting reviews; some say it’s great, while others report having trouble connecting. Would be interested in knowing from anyone who have tried this device or other brands what their experiences were.
Would prefer not to spend a lot of money on an ineffective venture.
I was about to, but my aunt—who had a baby in the NICU two years earlier—said it was the worst gift she had ever received because the tiny sock would start wailing if it came free in the slightest. She claimed she could sleep through the alarm because she ultimately grew accustomed to it going off, therefore it was simply too sensitive to be of any value.
With all of my children, I have utilised the owlet. For our third child, I recently purchased the new one. My anxiousness is terrible. I truly enjoy looking at numbers because I work as a nurse. The alarm sounds very different when your baby’s oxygen saturation level is low than it does even when it gets loose and alarms. My first son’s oxygen saturation occasionally fell below 80%. To get him to inhale, I had to gently prod him.
Many people, I know, detest it. Without it, I am unable to fall asleep or even to leave them for a nap in the other room.
