Hey there! I need some suggestions for pacifiers that work well for breastfed babies. My baby is 2 months old and always seems to want to suck on something, but the pacifiers we’ve tried so far haven’t been a hit. We’ve tried the Philips Avent Soothie that they give out at the hospital, and then the Philips Avent Ultra Soft. He seems to prefer the Ultra Soft, but still isn’t really interested. I’m hesitant to keep buying more because it feels like a waste if he doesn’t like them. I spend around 7 hours a day with him on my nipple either nursing or just sucking for comfort. He also seems to like the Philips Avent natural bottle nipples, but the issue is that he ends up drinking a lot of milk in a short time just for comfort, which isn’t sustainable for me to do all day. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!
For breastfed babies who enjoy sucking for comfort, I will recommend this and i am recommending it because my lovely wife uses it when breastfeeding my baby or rather our baby.
MAM Newborn Start Orthodontic Pacifier
This pacifier is designed to mimic the shape and feel of a mother’s breast, making it appealing to breastfed babies.
It sounds like you’re looking for a pacifier that mimics the feel of breastfeeding for your baby. Since your baby seems to prefer the Philips Avent Ultra Soft, you might want to try other pacifiers from the Philips Avent range, such as the Philips Avent Soothie Snuggle or the Philips Avent Soothie Shapes. These pacifiers are designed to be gentle on your baby’s gums and are made from soft, flexible silicone.
Another option to consider is the NUK Orthodontic Pacifier, which is designed to promote healthy oral development and is shaped to fit your baby’s mouth comfortably.
It’s also worth trying different sizes and shapes of pacifiers to see if your baby has a preference. Some babies prefer smaller or larger pacifiers, while others may prefer a different shape altogether.
Ultimately, every baby is different, so it may take some trial and error to find the right pacifier that your baby likes. Just keep experimenting and observing your baby’s preferences to find the best fit for him. And remember, it’s okay if your baby doesn’t take to a pacifier right away – not all babies do, and it’s more important to respond to your baby’s individual needs and comfort levels.
