How long did it last for you? What have you done? Strangely, he’ll snooze quite fine.
We just switched to survival mode and wept a lot. Some regressions resolved rapidly, while others lasted nearly two months. I would also recommend looking for indications of teething. There may be some overlap or teething problems rather than a regression. Tylenol at night rescued us throughout the teething period.
We have ped next week, and I will be sure to inquire about this. I suppose it’s developmental, but LO is continuously chewing on everything. Mostly three fingers, but also my arms, handbag, bracelets, and whatever else he can’t stop chewing on?
It’s always a fun game of “Is this just a normal baby thing or are they teething?” When your kid starts teething, he or she will essentially become a drool faucet. That was usually the best indicator for us that we weren’t merely dealing with a new wave of oral fixation.
Ahhh, right. The drooling. Definitely not there yet.
Teeth change before drooling. We were teething since month 3 before red cheeks and drooling began around mid-month 4. Symptoms include fever, ear discomfort, and irritability. Early tethers do not exhibit all of the standard symptoms when they begin. (We’re 8 months old, with 6 teeth and two more on the way.)
Oh god lol, my baby has been drooling profusely. I do not see any signs of teeth coming in…We go to the doctor on Thursday.
Yes, for sure. A baby is not sleepy if it wakes up every 10 minutes. Teething is heartbreaking. Good luck to the OP in making the visit next week. I would call him and see if it’s okay to offer the baby some relief.
I couldn’t handle the ups and downs. If my daughter woke up, we would go downstairs and do some tummy time (as well as practice sitting up, because her regression began about 4 months old) to get her tired. I’d try again in 30-45 minutes or when she signaled sleep. It was a difficult time, but hot cocoa and my dog calmly coming downstairs with us and allowing me to use her as a pillow as we watched the baby flail all over her mat helped.
Hey, this is excellent. It appears to just relieve the exhaustion of repeatedly waking and putting down.
The toughest part for me was getting back into bed, pulling the blankets up, and then hearing the baby wake up and wail .
I would definitely try Tylenol to see if it helps. 6 wake ups in an hour is . I hope you have better luck the rest of the night . The four-month relapse is typically characterized by waking up after every/most sleep cycles as they transition from newborn to “adult” sleep patterns and struggle to integrate their sleep cycles.
I suppose these were false starts. It has been like this for the last week. In addition to wanting to feed around 5 times every night? It’s practically back to the second week. Fortunately, he has been sleeping for 1.5 hours without interruption, however, I am nervous about his next awakening .
I’m going to ask Ped about Tylenol. Is this only in case he’s teething?
Is this the first night this has occurred? Some nights are simply terrible; this does not always indicate a’regression’.
It’s been several days already! Perhaps even a week. It’s as if the bassinet had spikes. It’s constant.
