Something no one told me, and I'm going to save the new parents the error

Avoid highchairs with fabric straps. :joy: I’ve learned my lesson. Cleaning is a pain in the ass. Find one with silicon straps that can be wiped down instead.

I place the infant on the high chair first, attach the straps, and then put on the bib to cover the straps. I find that the bib largely protects the straps from food spills.

Yes. We normally use long-sleeved bibs, so it makes him appear like a cute Quasimodo.

oh my GOD I have never bought something so quickly

They’re great. I purchased a 4 or 5 pack on Amazon at a reasonable price compared to the silicone bibs. Lightweight, can be rinsed in the sink, and washed with his clothes. Now I only need to decide what to do with his hair.

wooow :rofl:I do this too!

I just keep my straps dirty, and once in a while a grandmother will clean them lol.

Lmao, this is my technique for so many baby stuff.

I came here to say the same thing

Where can I find these types of grandparents? :face_with_monocle:

I might need to exchange mine because they are broken.

Yeah, they have a looser notion of clean than I do. My hubby and I are always cleaning up after my folks lol.

Same except nobody cleans them

Removable straps are convenient because they can be tossed in the wash.

This. We have a maxi-cosi. I tossed away the cushioning because we didn’t need it, but I wash the straps whenever they become dirty. However, the padding was easily removed, and stains were always visible.

The same goes for the IKEA one we had. The straps were not particularly easy to remove, but they were simple enough to throw in the washer every few weeks when a wipe off wasn’t enough.

I LOVE MY MAXI COSI!!! Worth every penny! My Pt said to remove the shoulder straps and just use the bottom strap!!
