Something No One Told Me, and I’m Gonna Spare the New Parents the Mistake

Don’t get a high chair that has fabric straps. :sweat_smile: Lesson learned. Pain in the ass to clean. Find one with silicone straps that just wipe down instead.

I just keep my straps nasty and once in a while a grandparent will clean them lol

Yeah I might need to exchange mine, they must be broken :joy:

@Heath
Yeah mine have a sketchier definition of clean than me. My husband and I are constantly cleaning up after my parents lol

Same except nobody cleans them.

I put baby in the high chair first, fasten the straps, then put the bib on so it covers the straps. I find that the bib will mostly shield the straps from food messes.

Yes. It makes him look like a cutie Quasimodo since we usually use long sleeve bibs.

@Ash
The WHAT

Edit: oh my GOD I have never bought something so quickly.

They’re great. I bought a 4 or 5 pack on Amazon for pretty cheap compared to the silicone bibs. Lightweight and can rinse off in the sink and wash with his clothes. Now I just need to figure out what to do with his hair.

@Ash
Search on Amazon ‘plastic food covers with elastic.’ Essentially a baby shower cap for pretty cheap.

I do this too!

Removable straps are good because you can just toss them in the wash.

This. We have the maxi-cosi. I threw the padding away awhile ago because we didn’t need it, but when the straps get gross I throw them in the wash. The padding did come off easy though, and stains always came out.

@Mumtiffany
Same with the IKEA one we had. The straps weren’t super easy to remove, but easy enough to throw in the wash every couple of weeks when a wipe down was no longer cutting it.

@Mumtiffany
I LOVE MY MAXI COSI!!! Worth every penny! My PT said to remove the shoulder straps and just use the bottom strap!!
