So I knew daycare would make us sick but I didn't expect it to happen in just three days

My baby started daycare on Monday and now both my husband and I are really feeling it with a bad stomach virus. We love our daycare but wow, there are germs everywhere. Thankfully, our little one seems fine and avoided the virus, thank goodness. Stay safe everyone and remember to wash your hands

I have to say you sound more positive than I would be to tag this as Happy/Funny . . . when I have stomach bugs it usually feels more like Terrible/Horrible :joy:

Honestly nothing else fit the vibe, I’m glad you noticed. Just trying to stay positive. We’re feeling better now and we can check this off our list of things we’ve survived lol

@Laine
If it’s Noro, unfortunately you can get sick again

Yeah… my little one started on Friday, and by Sunday we were all throwing up. It really does hit you out of nowhere

It really did hit me hard as soon as I got home from work today. So much barf. Something is definitely going around. Winter babies have it rough

When we told our doctor that our son was starting daycare, she asked if we wanted to schedule a sick visit for that week. She was only half serious

Yup, our doctor warned us to expect to be sick once a month for the first year and they were spot on. We ran out of sick days so quickly :weary:

My friend’s baby started and got Hand, Foot, and Mouth that same week. Sadly, my friend and her partner got it way worse :cold_sweat:

HFM seems like pure misery. I’m really anxious about our family catching it from daycare once our baby starts. A nurse at my baby’s doctor office lost her nails, and I read about a baby that wouldn’t eat anything for over a day

@Keir
A coworker’s daughter had it, she took time off to care for her, thought things were getting better and went back to work only to have to take more time off because it got worse again. It felt like it lasted at least 2 months. She said it was in her nostrils. I’m so worried.

Crap, mine is about to start and I’m dealing with morning sickness :cry::weary:

Oh, I feel for you. Hang in there

I was unwell for the first two months at least. Daycare really put me through it - still does but it’s not as bad now. Working from home for 4 years didn’t help since I wasn’t used to the germs like someone who goes into an office

Yep, my son started daycare on a Monday and by Friday we were at urgent care with croup. Ugh

Lol same here

The first 8 months were terrible for us. You should set up a plan with your partner about who handles sick days. Stock up on frozen meals. I’m not trying to scare you, but it really does get better

Same here. Our 13-month-old started daycare last week and had to stay home this week because of a respiratory virus. It’s hit me and my wife too. When does this get better :weary: I’m already thinking about getting a nanny

Maybe it’s just in my area, but flu, colds, and stomach bugs have been extra bad this year. Still, the first year of daycare will probably be tough no matter what

Yeah, she was in daycare for just three days, and then sick for 10 days. We’ve basically been sick for three months straight lol. Thankfully, we work remotely and had a routine down before she started daycare.

I’ve used up two boxes of Sudafed and at least four boxes of Mucinex. I get bronchitis every time I catch a cold, so it’s rough. My husband finally got sick this last time.
