Seeking Advice - Any tips for parents-to-be?

Hey everyone, this week my wife got a second positive test result, which pretty much confirms that we’re going to have a baby. We’re excited but also nervous because we don’t know what to expect.

I want to hear from new parents because they’ve been through this recently and can give us the best advice. Our parents’ advice might not be as helpful because times have changed.

Here are some things I’m worried about and would love to hear your thoughts on:

  1. How can I support my wife during the first few months? I tend to get easily frustrated, but I know I need to control my temper, especially since my wife will be going through a lot.
  2. We had plans to travel soon, but now that my wife is pregnant, we’re not sure if it’s safe. We’ll ask our doctor, but if you have any tips on traveling while pregnant, please share them.
  3. Do you know any good resources for nutrition and health during pregnancy?
  4. I’m feeling anxious about becoming a dad. How can I manage this anxiety? I don’t want it to stress out my wife even more.
  5. We’re doing okay financially, but we don’t have a lot saved up right now (we bought a house last year). What are some important things to think about financially to make sure we’re ready for the baby?

Sorry if I’m asking a lot of questions, I just want to be prepared. I’ll add anything else I think of in the comments.

Best wishes! Being a supportive spouse requires tolerance and comprehension. Put her health first. See your doctor about safe travel procedures. Investigate resources for prenatal nutrition. To control your anxiety, get help and keep yourself informed. In terms of money, prioritize necessities and budgeting. Warm regards!
