I couldn’t figure out where to put the darn thing, then I saw this in an article about baby monitor locations:
According to research, baby monitors that are 3.2 feet or closer to your child release the same amount of electromagnetic radiation as a 500-foot cell phone tower.
Where should you place your baby monitor?
Is this official? To me, that simply sounds a little bit 5G crazy. Additionally, when I turn it on farther away, the video resolution is pretty poor.
For safety, position the monitor at least three feet away from the crib and keep cords and wires out of reach. Avoid placing the baby monitor on a shelf above the crib.
Yeah, that radiation thing can sound scary. Here’s the deal: research suggests monitors really close (less than 3 feet) might emit similar radiation levels as a distant cell phone tower (important note: this doesn’t mean the health risks are the same). Experts generally recommend keeping it at least 3 feet from your baby for safety and better reception (fuzzy video at that distance is normal). So, move it a bit further back and you should be good! No need to go full “tin foil hat” here.
