How often do you bathe your newborn?

Online research suggests that the best frequency is three times a week. Bathing the infant daily helps him sleep better and grunt less. Is this true? Does bathing affect how the infant digests milk? How frequently do you bathe your baby?

We bathe my infant every night, but only use soap and shampoo every third night. She is 8 weeks old and sleeps about 7-8 hours per night.

7-8 hours of sleep every night?! I am quite envious! I have only accomplished a few nights of 4-hour stretches. The baby woke up twice that night, but only because I needed to wake him for diaper changes and feedings. He stayed awake for only 10 minutes each time, eating while half asleep.

We gave our kid a sponge bath in the hospital and then did nothing until his umbilical chord was totally healed.

At two months, we do it once a week, unless he really needs one. He enjoys taking baths, but when he gets out, he is so chilly because it is winter that I feel awful. He has a slight case of cradle cap (my husband had severe cradle cap as a newborn), but no other skin issues.

At 9 weeks, my little boy is starting to enjoy baths, but until last week, he detested them, so we only did them once a week. No skin problems. But as part of his bedtime routine, I wipe him down with a baby wipe and moisturise him every night.
