I’m looking for the best playard for my infant. What are the most important features to consider, and are there any particular brands or models that are highly recommended for safety and convenience? I want to make sure it’s practical for daily use and will keep my baby comfortable and secure.
What do you want a play pen for? We have a large one, but didn’t end up using it as a play pen at all, it’s really just another place for some larger toys now. Our daughter wanted to be near us and was too fussy to be in the play pen. Instead, we just made sure the whole space she could roam was baby proofed. Particularly when baby learns to crawl, they want to explore. Of course if you have dogs or cats or something they need to be separated from, and your baby is chill and ok not being right next to you, it may make sense to get a play pen.
I’m due with my second soon, and thinking it will now be useful in the near future for non baby safe toys for my toddler (so she could be in the play pen with toys only safe for her and not for the baby).
Look for a playard with a sturdy frame, breathable mesh sides, and a comfortable mattress. Brands like Graco, Chicco, and Summer Infant offer models with high safety standards and convenience features. Ensure it’s easy to fold, clean, and has a stable base.
