Hi everyone,
I am curious about how you all count your baby’s age. Do you consider a baby 2 months old at 8 weeks, or do you wait until the actual calendar date? Just wondering how others handle this.

Yes, a baby who is 2 months old is also 8 weeks old. Celebrating this milestone is a wonderful way to mark the early stages of your journey together!
Personally, I make use of both. I’ll remark, “My son is x weeks,” followed by “He’s x months,” Simply because the weeks don’t actually mean anything developmentally believe I would probably stop at six months.
As a parent who’s navigated the early stages of a baby’s development, I found that there are different ways to track age. Some parents count age in weeks and transition to months once their baby reaches the full month mark—so a baby would be considered 2 months old at 8 weeks if you follow a weekly count. Others prefer to use calendar dates for simplicity, so they’d wait until the actual date of the second month to say their baby is 2 months old. Both methods are common, and the choice often depends on personal preference and how detailed you want to be in tracking your baby’s milestones.
