We have blackout curtains in our room and our baby will wake up at 6am regardless.

Oh no well thank you for commenting and helping me prepare lol.
@Timber
I have had three layers of blackout curtains, and my baby (14 months) has woken up around 5am give or take for many, many months…at least since around April. We have tried everything under the sun. Doesn’t matter. He’s decided around 5 am is his time to shine.
@Lane
Omg I’m sorry. I hope he sleeps early & you get some downtime at night!

Luckily he’s asleep between 7-7:30 every night so I get a few hours to myself!

My theory is that it is preprogrammed since ancestors didn’t have alarms and used to wake up with sunrise and go to bed with the first dark.

Jokes on them, the sun doesn’t rise until nearly 9AM and sets at 430 this time of year where I am.
@Timber
We have blackout curtains and my boy wakes up any time from 7 to 8:30. He’s almost 9 months old.
@Vero
I’ve read this too. My 8yo nephew still wakes up at 6am since he was a baby, always was an early riser. I hope I don’t have the same fate with mine lol; his 6yo sister used to sleep in more as a baby/toddler but once they start school everyone has to be up early anyway.
@Vero
Unless his diaper leaks, my 9mo sleeps until 8am and has since and 4mo. I guess if you think about it, he still hasn’t been on this earth very long so that could of course change. But we come from a family of sleeper inners.
Mine is 5 months old right now. I’ve been letting her guide her bedtime. She used to sleep from about 9-10PM to 8-9AM, but as of late it’s more like 7-8PM to 6-7AM. Babies are all different, I think that as long as your schedule works for your family that’s all that matters!
Our baby goes to bed at 8:30pm and wakes up at 7:30am. I want a few hours with him in the evening before bed and I also get an hour or more before he wakes up to myself. Works great for us so far!

This is exactly the schedule we are on. It allows my son to have some time with his dad before he goes to sleep. Where I live, people are very adamant about how children need to get to bed super early and I’ve had some older people commenting about the baby still being up if we were running late errands or going out to dinner the three of us but my baby definitely doesn’t seem overtired. Sometimes when he wakes up at 6-7am and seems super awake, I will take him to bed with me (husband usually gets up for work around that time) and he’ll slap on another 45-90 minutes of sleep. I can absolutely live with that.
At that age my baby would not sleep until at least 11 and would wake up at about 9-10. She now does like 9-9 or 10-9. It changes haha. So yeah, no problem to do a different schedule.

Yes! Sounds like mine too. His sleep overnight is broken but he still sometimes doesn’t fall asleep until midnight or 1am (depending on how his stomach is that night) and wakes up at like 10am or sometimes even 11am. The circumstances suck with why he won’t sleep well right now but hoping he will grow out of it soon.
My baby’s natural schedule has been bed by 11:15/11:30 and not a moment earlier, sleeping 90% of the time through the night until 11am, occasionally waking for one feed! We’re just taking her lead.
Mine is more of a 9pm to 8am kinda kiddo. Has stuck around still, thankfully, and he’s almost 3. Same thing with my 6-month-old so far, but she crashes between 7:30-8.
My baby is 5.5 months old and we do a 9pm bedtime and she wakes up between 8-8:30! My husband and I are both night people so it works well for us.
Our family is all night owls, so we do a later bedtime and wake time - works for us.
Mine still goes to sleep around 830/9 at 7mo. Once in a while he’ll go to sleep earlier depending on his naps. He worked his bedtime back on his own though. He wouldn’t go to sleep before midnight when he was younger and then slowly started wanting bed earlier and earlier.
