It’s not working for us, and she’s wailing nonstop. We provided 1ML to our 14-pound, 9-month-old baby.
Motrin works far better than Tylenol for teething. Tylenol did nothing for my baby. Motrin and he’ll be OK for 6-7 hours.
Came here to say exactly this
Yes/no. Each infant is unique. It helped my child fall asleep and stay asleep for longer periods of time, but they still woke up more frequently than usual.
Motrin works better for us.
Yes, it helped him sleep a little longer, but he still woke up occasionally.
I would double-check with your doctor or pharmacist about that dosage. Infant Tylenol is dosed based on weight. For example, the Tylenol concentration I have is 160mg/5mL, therefore we give at least 3.75mL to our 20-pound infant. Check with your doctor, though.
It helped us, I believe. That dosage is lower than our pediatrician’s recommendation for a similar age and weight. Perhaps you are not providing enough?
We did 1.25 mal at the 2 month shots which was about 0.1 mL per lb
You can also take ibuprofen. Tylenol and ibuprofen helped my child’s teething pain. Neither was ideal, but ibuprofen seemed to assist slightly more.
My little one is now teething and has had a couple of difficult nights, so I gave him ibuprofen the previous two nights and he slept through. I’ve tried it before, and it didn’t work. I believe it is much dependent on the child and the circumstances.
If your infant is 6 months or older, I definitely recommend Motrin!!!
It worked for us, and her molars are coming in properly. Is, and for a few days, that was the only way she could sleep.
It does make a small impact in my one-year-old. I last gave him 3.75ml when he weighed 21 pounds; he is now 24 pounds and has another tooth coming in. According to Tylenol’s website, I’ll give him the entire 5ml at that weight.
I also supplement with Orajel when he appears to be in slight discomfort rather than sobbing all night. Doesn’t seem to last long, but it does appear to provide some immediate comfort.
Good luck!
