At just four months old, our Frida humidifier has already developed a nasty smell. Two small insects have perished inside and are sticking in, How am I ever going to clean it? It is rather sticky because of the lavender drops.
I once had a similar issue with my humidifier, which developed a bad smell after only a few months of use. To tackle it, I first unplugged the device and emptied any remaining water. I then thoroughly cleaned the tank with a mixture of water and white vinegar, scrubbing away any sticky residue. I used a small brush to reach the corners where the insects had died and made sure to rinse everything thoroughly. For persistent smells, a solution of water and baking soda can help neutralize odors. After cleaning, I let everything dry completely before reassembling and using it again.

Yeah this works perfectly well! Maybe you should adopt a new way of going about things, just ensure to clean the inside of the dome/tank on a weekly basis to prevent too much scaling and unpleasant smell.
