It’s not a significant occasion or milestone, but it’s one I’ll remember forever.
Last night, during my son’s 4 a.m. feed, I introduced the nightlight on his baby monitor. Mainly so that I could see what I was doing.
Let me inform you. He adores it. He was watching it and smiling when I fed him, so the milk dribbled out the sides of his lips. He would glance at the nightlight, then at me, and then back again, smiling and gazing in awe!
I’ve recently been diagnosed with PPD, and the moment with him nearly broke me. It’s as if he swept away all the negative emotions and transported me to his wonderful little world!
Awww, those grins have great power. Soak it up, mama; you’re doing wonderful!
Ah, balls, I’m weeping and napping with only a nasty, milky muslin to dry myself off! If my relationship ends, I want to find someone who stares at me like my son looks at the bedroom lamp at 3 a.m.
That’s very sweet! My heart is melting like butter! You’ll feel better and enjoy your baby more with time .
That’s very lovely! My now 10-month-old has been attracted by lights since the beginning. She spent her first week in the hospital, and when she woke up, she looked up to see the lights. She now points to every light she sees (pro tip: acquire a color changing Alexa bulb or whatever you name it to distract your rotisserie chicken baby from rolling into a seated position while changing the lights ). I know it’s a common baby trait, but it’s so special to share in their sense of astonishment when they encounter even the simplest of things.
