Has anyone else noticed their little one sticking their tongue in and out of their mouth for extended periods of 10-15 minutes? Our daughter started doing this recently, along with seeming to gag on her saliva more frequently. Sometimes she coughs because of it, but tonight she gagged for nearly 30 seconds straight.

I tried searching on Google, but it keeps suggesting Down syndrome or BWS, which has not been very helpful. Any insights would be appreciated.

I would advise speaking with your pediatrician to rule out any problems and receive tailored counsel, even if it might just be a typical investigation of tongue motions.

Now that her saliva glands are working, she is realizing that she can control her tongue. Do not use Google!
